Lately, I have somewhat become a computer nut, spending more of my time facing my computer than before. Yes, this is with good reason, because I am too excited and too eager to know the daily update in our club’s web site. (www.rotarymetroiloilo.org) Our web site is very informative. Full of facts about our club’s colorful history, projects, awards, profile of officers and members, plans and programs, etc. etc., complete with accompanying pictures. Maybe everything you wanted to know about our club is in our website. Our website also serves as a forum to give our members the opportunity to participate and express their ideas for the betterment of our club. The website is also aimed to make our club well known not only in our country but through out the whole world. I am encouraging our members to visit our website as often as you can. Congratulations to PP Chris Montero, chairman of website development, for a job well done.

The special committee “On to Cagayan de Oro Metro Sports fest” headed by PE Apuy Chan Chu, had their first meeting last August 30, 2008 to discuss our club’s participation and preparation for the said sport fest. It is already a tradition that our club always emerge as overall champion in this annual event. And so it is a challenge to our members to keep up this feat. I am encouraging all our members to fully back this endeavor in terms of actual participation, moral and financial support.

The month of September in the Rotary calendar is the New Generations Month. The focus of which is geared toward the youth, the Interact and the Rotaract… to enable the young generation at an early age know what service to our fellow men means and their social responsibilities to the community and country. I am calling all the chairmen of the different committees to focus our projects on our theme this month of September.
