Last week, during the 2nd encounter in our on-going Inter-Color sports fest between the Yellow & Blue Team, the Yellow team showed its supremacy over the Blue Team by emerging champion in the finals of the bowling event. Finals in the darts, table tennis and badminton events will still be contested this week. I would like to encourage our members to be there to show their support and solidarity behind their respective teams. Last week we visited our adopted Day Care Center in Brgy. Buntatala in Jaro to distribute books, school supplies, equipment and relief goods donated by Natasha and the RC Historic Town from USA. We were impressed by tales of how the teachers and parents risk their lives just to save the books and equipment during the flood and their concerted efforts in bringing back to normal the operation of the day care center only a few days after the flood. I have observed that only a few of our members participated in the implementation of our Day Care Project in our four adopted Day Care Centers. We still have to cover several adopted day care centers in the weeks to come and I will be happy to see our members get involved in the implementation of this noble project. Today, September 23, 2008, we will be distributing items to our adopted daycare centers in Ungka I in the morning and Dungon A & Dungon B in the afternoon. On September 30, 2008, as the culminating activities in the celebration of the New Generation Month, our club through the International Service of IPP Kano Ng, is conducting a club level elimination to choose our club contestant to the district level competition in the Voice of the Youth Project of Rotary in Bacolod City. |
