Last weekend, in the just concluded Inter-club Sports Fest among Rotary clubs in District 3850 Zone 1, 2 & 3, our club again showed its supremacy in the field of sports over the others that participated. Our club excelled in three events. Champion in the Table Tennis doubles event; a 1-2-3 sweep in the Table Tennis Singles event; Champion in Darts both in singles and team events; and Champion in Chess . Our club also garnered impressive ranking, such as 1st and 2nd runners-up in the other events won by other clubs. Though no award was given to the over-all champion as what was being practiced in the previous sportsfests, yet obviously, our club got the most number of championships and minor trophies compared to the other participating clubs. My congratulations to all our members who were part of the winning team! We are proud of you!

Last week, we had already sent our club’s friendly reminders to our delinquent members regarding their financial and attendance obligations to our club. We have a very good response and we are expecting a big boost in our finances and an improvement in our attendance. May I reiterate that the said act of the Board is not selective, but brought about by its desire to improve our club finances and achieve the attendance standard set forth by Rotary International.

I would like to remind all the members of the Board of Directors and all committee chairmen and co-chairs of all avenues of service to attend our 6th monthly board meeting on December 4, 2008 at Ocean City Restaurant at 7:00 PM.
