"It was a most memorable week we can't forget in our entire life" was the unanimous comment of all the members of the recently concluded medical and surgical mission organized by our Filipino kababayans and American doctors from the state of Florida, USA.  A week made memorable by their feeling of joy and fulfillment after treating thousands of indigent Ilonggos, including performing major and minor surgeries for 300 patients. A week made unforgettable also, by the pampering accorded to them by the well-known Ilonggo hospitality, and most of all, the well organized and disciplined Rotarians (members of the different Rotary Clubs in Iloilo and Guimaras) who were instrumental in the smooth and successful implementation of the medical and surgical mission. Thanks to the Rotarians who were there all the way from the conceptualization until the full implementation of the project who gave their precious time, effort and financial support. In the truest sense, indeed it was "Rotary in Motion and Action". Because of their pleasant experience with us, the group from the USA promised to come back to Iloilo for a similar project in the near future.

The District Conference of Rotary District 3850 is fast approaching. It will be on March 5 to 7, 2009 at Iloilo City. I am exhorting our members to participate; since as a good Rotarian, attending Rotary activities, --and this one, an important District affair-- is one of our obligations. A special rate (P 2,200.00) is given if we register on or before February 15, 2009.
