Last week was a very busy one where we had our election, the implementation of our heart surgery project and the celebration of our Christmas fellowship. I would like to first congratulate our President-Nominee Corlie Ho for winning last week’s election. Now we can be assured of the continuity of our club leadership in the near future. Last Saturday, we facilitated our biggest project to date yet, “Mend a Broken Heart”, an open heart surgery program spearheaded by Rtn Dr. Leo Malunes and his team of volunteer-doctors. We are joyful that this project touched and greatly benefited the lives of the beneficiaries. The project was so successful that it inspired and touched also the hearts of many generous people who have agreed to help sustain this project financially, as such that we could now roll out the second batch of patients as early as the 3rd week of January. During this Christmas season, Dr. Leo and I will hammer out the final details for this project. To Rtn Leo and to his team of volunteer doctors, congratulations for the job well done! Our big thanks to you all! Last Saturday evening I was a little nervous when I could not get through the phone of Dr Leo and it was already getting late for our Christmas party. Later I came to know that one of the patients had a complication during the operation, but fortunately our good doctors were able to pull through successfully. And so we were able to enjoy our Christmas party. Thanks to everyone who attended and shared their time to make this fellowship festive and enjoyable! This Thursday December 17, we will be having our blood letting project in Guimbal District Hospital. So for those who would like to join us, we will assemble at Ocean City Restaurant on that day, Thursday, 8 am. See you there. |
