Bloodletting at Guimbal District Hospital

Season’s greetings, my fellow Rotarians! I hope that everyone had a very “merry” Christmas celebration!

Last December 17, we had another successful bloodletting at Guimbal District Hospital with about 60 donors who each gave 450ml of blood, thereby helping again in replenishing the blood supply of the local chapter of Philippines National Red Cross (PNRC) and the people of our area in general. As we all know, blood is one part of our body which we cannot produce artificially no matter what the cost, so giving blood is also giving life.

Going into the new year, I am very much concerned on the state of our membership’s participation in our club activities. It seems that most members have begun taking for granted the perceived strength and dynamism of our beloved club.

We must all remember that the strength of our club is not only because of the leaders guiding the club but also because of the active participation of our members. So I am hoping that the members would be able to reflect during and after the holiday season; that our club needs you, not to just attend our regular meetings but to also be actively involved in our many projects, fellowships and in other club activities. I believe that without your active participation, time will come when no one would be interested in leading this beloved club of ours.
