Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Foremost, I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to all Metro Rotarians who extended a hand in making our Induction and Turn over ceremonies a great success. Special thanks is extended also to the members who provided extra financial support to defray for the other expenses of the club during the aforementioned affair. I am also grateful for all the Metro Rotarians who had joined me in attending the induction and turn over ceremonies of the Rotary Clubs of Downtown Manila, Metro Roxas, Metro Passi, Antique, La Paz, Iloilo South, Central Iloilo City and Metro Passi.
RI Membership fee: I would like to appeal again to all the members who have not yet settled the annual membership fee to please pay them on or before July 31, 2010. While payment in full is highly encouraged, you can also pay semi annually to make it less burdensome. The ten (10%) discount can still be availed up to our deadline.
Proposed Sisterhood Agreement: Last week, together with some Members of the Board, The Past Presidents and PDG Ramon met with the representatives of Rotary Club of Unsang East, Korea and discussed the possibility of fostering a sisterhood agreement. Initial information gathered reveal that the proposed Korean club has more than 50 members and is interested in forging a sisterhood pact with us. They presented to us their club profile and brochures. We consider this offer as a rare occasion for us taking into consideration that a lot of local clubs would surely grab this opportunity if we refuse this offer. Through the expertise of PP Chris and with the guidance of PDG Ramon, we have prepared a well crafted club profile to be presented to the Rotary Club of Unsang East. I am confident that with the long list of huge and significant projects displayed in the profile, RC Unsang East would not hesitate forging a sisterhood pact with us.
Governor’s visit: As announced earlier, it is confirmed that the Governor’s visit will be on 3 August 2010. Although too close to implement, we plan to come up with a simple project as a token of our appreciation to the Governor for visiting us. IPP Apuy has suggested that we will have a feeding of the Day Care pupils and book donation. Dir. Dave Jamora is tasked to identify the beneficiaries of the said project.
We have lined up several proposed projects to be implemented during this term of office. We have just started our journey to achieve our primordial goal of doing service to our less fortunate brethren. These tasks are tough but with God’s grace and with your cooperation and support, we can do it all.
