Dear Fellow Rotarians!
Good news! Last week I received information from PDG Ramon that our Matching Grant Application for the Rescue Van has been approved by the Rotary Foundation (TRF). The amount of award is USD 10,500.00. There are documents that we need to complete to facilitate the release and finally to implement the project. Thanks to PDG Ramon and PP Kano for the great efforts in realizing this project. Also last week I received a letter from the President of RC Ansung East (translated in English) thanking us for the warm reception and fine hosting. According to his letter, he was bit worried how they can equate or match our hospitality shown to them during their visit. He is expecting to see us soon in South Korea.
Metrosports Fests The schedule of the Metro Sports Fests in Bacolod is fast approaching. We need to come up with our official list of players to represent our delegation. I am appealing to events Chairmen to finalize our line up possibly this week so we can submit it to the host club, RC Metro Bacolod. Your participation in this annual event is indispensable. The championship trophy is waiting for us in Bacolod. Let’s play, have fun and bring home the crown.
Blood Letting Project Please don’t forget our Blood Letting Project (phase2) on September 25, 2010 at Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital, Cabatuan, Iloilo. There are 100 donors who will donate blood. At the same time, we will be bringing with us our Mobile Kitchen to conduct feeding program to 200 patients of the said hospital, mostly dengue patients. A little time we can spare or even our presence would mean a lot to our less fortunate brethren.
Adopt A School Project As approved by the Board, we are working on the details on how to possibly rehabilitate the school clinic of Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School as suggested by DG James Makasiar. On the improvement aspect, we have tapped the expertise of Rtns. Darrel Balogo and Felix Gurrea about this and sooner, we can come up with the actual figures that we need to spend to make it operational. On the health aspect, Rtn. Leo Malunes has pledged to conduct Deworming program. Similarly, Dir. Roland Uy will be discussing with Rtn. James Woo about common pedia health problems that need medical attention. All these efforts will be coordinated and consolidated to maximize the services we can possibly extend to the malnourished pupils of this institution.
