Dear Fellow Rotarian,

We have our Board Meeting last week and we have thoroughly discussed several pending projects awaiting approval of budget. The Board finally approved the release of P30,000.00 as club’s share for the rehabilitation of the school clinic of Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School. Thanks to Rtn. Darrel Balogo and Rtn. Felix Gurrea who will jointly undertake and oversee the implementation of the rehabilitation works. Civil works will be started at earliest possible time.

We have also approved the budget for the feeding program of the malnourished pupils of the Arevalo Elementary School in the amount of P25,000.00. It will cover the cost of 1 meal per day for 10 pupils (5 days in a week) until end of school days on March 2010. The school has an existing program and all we have to do is monitoring and see to it that the program is faithfully carried out.

Dir. Philip Co, who chairs the Public Relations Committee, has confirmed that our public image project is now ready for implementation. He offered an ads space in his building located at Sen. Benigno Aquino Ave., to be used for the purpose. The Board decided to put rotary’s “Humanity in motion” to be painted thereat. Thanks for the kindness of Dir. Phillip for offering us the ads space for free.

Last Satruday, 6 November 2010, Dirs. Abay, Dave Jamora, Paul Francia, Paul Yap, RTNS. Tony Kon and Darrel Balogo have graced the opening activity of our co-sponsored Livelihood Training Program held at Quarry Rest., Mandurriao, Iloilo City. My sincere appreciation to Dir. Abay for his untiring efforts in materializing this project. Special thanks is also extended to RTN. Felix Gurrea for his generosity of allowing us to co-sponsor this activity.

Also late last Saturday, I together with PDG Ramon, PP Kano, RTN. Darrel have attended the 15th Anniversary of our Sister Club, RC Manila Metro. We were warmly accommodated and were given opportunity to be introduced to other Sister Clubs of RC Manila Metro, local and international. One club from the Republic of Taiwan has given us token of friendship, expressing its intention towards sisterhood pact in the future.
