Dear Fellow Rotarian, A pleasant and grace filled day to everyone! It is nice to be back after a week break as we cancelled our last regular meeting since it fell on non working holiday. Last week, I visited Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School to coordinate with the school Principal to commence the repair/rehabilitation of their dilapidated clinic. The Principal expressed great joy after knowing our intention to help them make their school clinic function again. Although she cannot pledge monetary participation in the project, she assured us that the school administration and parents are more than willing to extend labor and services as their share to this endeavour. We have already requested the RCMI Foundation to release the first tranche of the annual monetary assistance to the Club. Hopefully we can start the repair as soon as the fund allocated is ready and available this week. Today, I am pleased to announce that we will be inducting four (4) new members, two (2) of them are former RCMI members who decided to return to our club’s fold, Ed Valero & Doy Espartero and two(2) young bloods, Mark Laurence Gaute and Anthony Ang. Certainly, they are great assets that can surely augment existing club talents and expertise in the field of community service. Warm welcome to the world of community service! Once again, I would like to remind everyone that in the rotary calendar, November is the Rotary Foundation Month. We are aware that the like any other foundations, the lifeblood of Rotary Foundation is the contribution of the sustaining and Paul Harris Contributors and other benevolent donations for charity and other humanitarian assistance. Gleaned from our contribution records, there are lot of sustaining contributors from our club. Christmas is fast approaching and it is the most opportune time to share a part of your treasure as it would bring a difference to support to the worldwide quest to help the needy. Lastly, I would like to inform everyone that we will be having our Christmas party and Election of the new set of officers for the rotary year 2011-2012 early part of December 2010. We will discuss these in our special board meeting and will let you know of the schedule and venue soonest. |
