Dear Fellow Rotarians, The first semester of this rotary year is about to end and I feel it is fitting time for us to reflect and evaluate how far has our club achieve its objectives. In terms of membership, we have recruited five (5) new young Rotarians to augment our strength and two (2) returning Rotarians in our folds. We hope we can reach our goal of having an additional members of twelve (12) before the end of this rotary year. With your assistance, certainly this goal is doable. With deep regrets, I admit we did not fare well in our attendance aspect. With the blessings of the Board, we tried to implement some measures to increase our attendance but still we failed to reach a good rate as expected. Please be reminded of our commitment which we have solemnly sworn during our oath. Your presence in our meetings and activities makes this club vibrant and effective. I appeal to our Outstanding Past Presidents and other Club leaders to please help us to take care of this shortcomings. Concerning projects, I must confess that we have not implemented yet any community project that brings great impact to the community. We have undertaken usual projects in the early stage of this administration but we need to do more to help our needy brethren. We hope to start the repair/rehab of the clinic of Manuel L. Quezon Elem. School this week. In the event the clinic is operative, we can start extending medical services to the pupils through the kindness of our doctor-members. We are looking forward also to forge an agreement with the school administration of Arevalo Elem. School for the sustainable feeding program of ten(10) malnourished pupils. PP Kano is currently working on the purchase of our Matching Grant Project “Rescue Van” to be donated to Phil. National Red Cross, Iloilo Chapter. We hope to realize all these before the end of this semester. Moreover, I would like to inform everyone that we will be having our Christmas party and Election of the new set of officers for the rotary year 2011-2012 early part of December 2010. We will tackle these matters in our regular board meeting on Dec. 2, 2010 and will let you know of the development soonest. |
