Two (2) dedicated and gallant Rotarians

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

In rotary world, it is the position who seeks the person as against politics where a person is the one seeking for the position.

True to this, the Council of Presidents and the members of the incumbent and the incoming Board of Directors of our Club have convened last Thursday with main mission-to search for a ROTARIAN who will accept the highest position in the Club. After the concerted efforts and pledges of support, two (2) dedicated and gallant Rotarians have risen to the occasion to respond to our protracted prayers and pleas. Allow me to commend the Council of the Presidents and the members of the Incumbent and Incoming Board of Directors for the job well done! Mission accomplished! Congratulations to our new President Elect DOY ESPARTERO and President Nominee PHILLIP CO. To me, you are God sent heroes who save the club in the crucial stage of its existence.

I am pleased to inform that repairs of the clinic of Manuel L. Quezon Elem. School is already completed. In spite of budget constraints, the project kicked off and sooner will be the source of other services which our club may render. For one, I believed it would be best if we can extend medical services to make the turn over more useful and meaningful. We have a plenty of reputable members in this field of profession and I am confident that their generosity cannot be outdone in rendering services to the poor and needy. Corollary to this, I have invited the School Principal to speak before us to give us information and better idea on how to be of help to their poor pupils and the school. It was suggested by no other than DG James that we concentrate our efforts, in harmony with the district thrusts, to one area for better results and sustainability. Thanks to RTNS. Darrel Balogo and Felix Gurrea for the completion of the clinic.

I met the OIC Administrator of Arevalo Elementary School a few days ago to finalize our Sponsorship on the feeding program of their malnourished pupils. Documentations are being readied and next week we are expecting a formal signing of agreement.

Today starts the citywide Dinagyang food aid program to various schools jointly sponsored by Iloilo Red Cross, Dinagyang Foundation and our club, using our donated Mobile Kitchen. Please see the schedule posted in our Metropost and find out the time you can best spare to help feed the school children. Thanks to PDG Ramon for allowing us to be a part of this huge endeavour.

Finally, please be reminded that the deadline of payment our membership fee to RI is on or before Jan. 31, 2011. Kindly verify your records and please settle your dues before the deadline, if there is any. Also, it is my continuing appeal to everyone to please help campaign for our attendance. We still have time to improve and make good of our attendance performance.
