Dear Fellow Rotarians, Last week has been very busy for all of us. We have participated in the series of feeding activities to various Elementary Schools together with the Iloilo Red Cross where a thousand of pupils have been fed. It was a gratifying and fulfilling experience seeing the great joy in the eyes of the school children acknowledging people who tirelessly lend a hand to them. Let us not get tired in reaching out for these children. A lot of them are still waiting for our care. Similarly last week, I have conferred with Dr. James Woo about the possibility of doing medical services for the clinic of our adopted school, Manuel L. Quezon E/S. He will visit the school to conduct assessment and will try to do initial steps to jump start the program. I appeal to all Metro Rotarians to help out carry out this program. This will greatly uplift the health condition of the malnourished children of the school. Equally important, our book drive is still ongoing. Please continue to donate books, old toys and old clothes. Your discarded things are beneficial and valuable to these deprived children. I have received update from PP Kano that our mobile RESCUE VAN is already complete except for the sticker markings of RC METRO and Iloilo Red Cross are left uninstalled. Hopefully, it could be finished in a week time so we can finally do the ceremonial turn over soonest. Lastly, I would like to thank all the Rotarians who attended our Dinagyang fellowship last Saturday. I am grateful to PN Phillip Co for providing us the venue as well as cases of beers. Likewise, thanks to birthday celebrant Andrei Cornejo for the extra donation and to all the Rotarians who contributed for the lechon. |
