This year’s Rotary theme “Make Dreams Real” brings back to memory a line from Kalidasa which goes,

“For yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision.”

Today’s global concern is a challenge to all Rotarians to make the world’s dream for every child a reality. The children of the world are waiting for us to “Lend a Hand, Care & Share”. This is an opportune time for us to show that “Mankind is Our Business” and to “Sow the Seeds of Love” to every nook of our community. We have to “Lead the Way” towards the realization of our goal. Our themes for the past 30 years are the dreams of yesterday, but today we are called on to fulfill it.

Our focus of concern is on the children as they hold the future of the world. Take time to look beyond yourself and be a friend to a child in your midst.

Still from Kalidasa, I end with this line “But today well-lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.” Make your everyday well-lived, for real happiness is on helping others.
