Food Aid Program

During our last monthly board meeting, one of the topics that was enthusiastically discussed was our not having a guest speaker and how we can get one. Previously we had agreed that the task is open to any member who knows anybody who is somebody in the city who has the intellect and capacity to discuss a relevant subject that the members are eager to hear. Although there were some initial steps done, nothing came out of it resulting to finger pointing. PP Jun Borromeo suggested that the responsibility should now rest upon the club President’s shoulders. The President must send a letter of invitation to persons of interest suggested by a member. Fine, now the responsibility has been defined and a solution was agreed upon to this nagging issue. I have with me letters of invite to 4-5 suggested personalities, some of whom were not identified except for the institution they represent. What I need now are the names of those not identified and addresses. Can any member help me on this?

In partnership with the Dinagyang Foundation and the Philippine Red Cross, we are having a Food Aid Program for school children at the following schools: Iloilo Elementary School, cor. Mabini-Gen Luna Sts. — 9-10 am Jan 10

Baluarte Elementary School, Baluarte, Molo 9-10 am Jan 12I.Arroyo Elementary School, Molo — 9-10 am Jan 17

Jalandoni Elementary School, Lapuz — 9-10 am Jan 19

We need members to join us in support of this activity.

On February 16-18, 2012 we will be hosting 12 Rotarians from South Korea. They will be here for the distribution of school bags for grade one pupils from selected public elementary schools in the city. Suggestions for beneficiary schools are open on a “first come first serve” basis until supply lasts.

Word got around that PP Joe Sanson is quite ill. Those who know PP Joe and would like to visit him can join us after the meeting.
